Hall Newbegin is the Chief Wilderness Perfumer and Founder at Juniper Ridge. He thinks of himself as an accidental perfumer.

Hall grew up in Portland, Oregon and spent summers hiking and backpacking around the lakes and peaks of the Cascade Mountains. Mt. Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Three Sisters… Indeed, those names bring a kind of magic into the room for him, and that magic is what his perfume is devoted to. If he can bottle a summer day on Mt. Hood’s Timberline Trail when the wildflowers are peaking, well, that’s just the most beautiful thing ever.

2018 marks the first year of Hall Newbegin's participation as a judge at the Art and Olfaction Awards. He will serve as a special judge in a three person panel for the Aftel Award for Handmade Perfume.
